Anne Hathaway to play Barbie



Oscar winning actor Anne Hathaway is reportedly all set to play the iconic role of Barbie that was originally offered to Amy Schumer. It has been reported that Hathaway could potentially play the iconic Barbie doll leaving Barbie land to embark on adventures around the world.  With her impressive acting chops, we are sure Anne will bring something new to the character and we certainly can’t wait to watch her play it!

Three Emmy Nominations for Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy



Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy does it again! This time she receives three Emmy nominations for her documentary ‘The Girl in the River’. The 2015 release is about a woman who survives an attempted honour killing and the country’s harsh judicial system. It has earned nominations for three categories including best documentary, outstanding short documentary and outstanding music and sound. Way to go!

Nawaz Sharif disqualified as Prime Minister



A historic decision was passed by the Supreme Court disqualifying Nawaz Sharif as prime minister of Pakistan. The unanimous decision was announced after an investigative panel alleged his family’s wealth was far above their earnings in a scathing corruption report. Immediately after the decision, Nawaz Sharif resigned from his post, leaving the party in disarray.

Jimmy Choo bought to buy Michael Kors in $1.2 Billion deal



Luxury shoemaker Jimmy Choo was recently bought by US retailer Michael Kors in a $1.2 billion deal. Founded in the 1990s, the iconic shoemaker brand is known for its stiletto heels and accessories with stores in different parts of the world. When asked about the deal, it was revealed that the brand will continue to operate as it does today, under its existing management team.

Kamila Shamsie, Mohsin Hamid make it to Man Booker Prize longlist



Renowned British-Pakistani authors Kamila Shamsie and Mohsin Hamid have been long listed for the prestigious Man Booker prize. Home Fire by Shamsie and Exit West by Hamid are among the 13 novelists long listed for the £50,000 award. We wish both the authors best of luck and congratulate them for this achievement!

Priyanka Chopra gets trolled for a photoshoot



Quantico-star Priyanka Chopra has recently been a victim of online hate and trolling because of a recent shoot she did for L’Officiel India. The pictures of the 2015 photoshoot surfaced online recently and since then her looks have been compared to the likes of Lady Gaga and a few characters from Game of Thrones. The star has sparked controversy in the past as well for showing too much skin on her visit to meet the Indian Prime Minister Narinder Modi.

Angelina Jolie breaks silence on Brad Pitt split



As the face of the September issue of Vanity Fair, Angelina Jolie finally opens up about her split with ex husband Brad Pitt. The Oscar-winning actress revealed that things became beyond repair between the two in the summer of 2016 after which they decided to part ways. She also shared how she grieved during this time and how her relationship with her kids has strengthened over time. We can’t wait to grab the September issue of Vanity Fair to read more!
