Siyal was presiding over a meeting to review the law and order situation of the metropolis. The meeting was attended by the Additional Inspector-Generals of Sindh, Karachi, traffic, crime, Counter-Terrorism Department and Special Branch, all Zonal DIGs of Karachi, Karachi administration DIG, Criminal Investigation Agency DIG and all District SSPs and SHOs of Karachi.

Siyal expressed concern over the increasing street crime in the city and said complaints against SHOs and police station staff's behaviour towards visiting citizens were being received. He warned SHOs to improve their performance or strict action would be initiated against them.
Seven SHOs are being suspended and reverted because of poor performance after being evaluated by the Karachi Additional IG Ghulam Qadir Thebo, former Karachi additional IG Mushtaq Mahar and Citizens-Police Liaison Committee, the home minister said, adding that the SHOs were of the Preedy, Sacchal, Liaquatabad, Mominabad, Saudabad, Risala and Jamshed Quarters police stations.
Initially, one SHO from each district of Karachi is being suspended and this process will continue based on evaluation of three months performance. "This mechanism will be implemented throughout the province," he added.

Siyal called for immediate action against criminals involved in organised crime, including narcotics and gambling dens and smuggling and illegal sale of Iranian oils. He further warned that negligence of duties and responsibilities would not be tolerated.
Talking to media after the meeting, Siyal said that the special branch additional IG has been tasked with giving quarterly reports about the performance of the staff of police stations while the crimes additional IG has been tasked with submitting a performance of police stations with special reference to action against organised crime.
