'Bad' shaving cream lands Shah Rukh Khan in legal trouble

SRK served legal notice for endorsing shaving cream that gave a man rashes

A man in Bhopal, India has filed a case against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan after he developed rashes on his face when he used a shaving cream endorsed by the actor.

The man, Rajkumar Pandey, filed a case in a Bhopal consumer court alleging that Shah Rukh is misleading people with his advertisement where he says the shaving cream is “India’s number one”, Hindustan Times reported.

In his complaint, the complainant said he developed rashes on his face after using the shaving cream and had to receive treatment from a government hospital.



After hearing the case, magistrate Kashinath Singh has sent notices to SRK, the owner of the company that manufactures the shaving cream, a shopkeeper and the director of the Madhya Pradesh Food and Drugs Department.

Claiming that he got the cream tested at the Madhya Pradesh Food and Drugs Department, Pandey said, “The report says the cream is of low, bad quality.”

While SRK appears in ads for VI-John shaving cream, Hindustan Times could not independently verify the report.

SRK is currently gearing up for the release of Imtiaz Ali’s next, Jab Harry Met Sejal, opposite Anushka Sharma.
