ISLAMABAD: Entries for Letter Writing Competition 2011 of the Pakistan Post would be received until April 15 across the country.

It is an annual feature of Pakistan Post to encourage young students up to age 15 to promote letter writing, Additional Director General (Ops) Fazli Sattar Khan told APP here on Sunday.

He highlighted the topic for the competition “Imagine you are a tree living in a forest, write a letter to someone to explain why it is important to protect forest”.

He added that the best letter in English will be sent to the Universal Postal Union (UPU), where a jury set up by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization will select three winners to be awarded gold, silver and bronze medal as well as albums of the UPU official postage stamp.

He added that winners would get 1st prize of Rs20,000, 2nd prize of Rs10,000 and 3rd prize of Rs5,000.
