PML-N MPA’s official car stolen in Jhelum

JHELUM: Thieves drove off with the official car of a member of the Punjab Assembly on Monday. Parliamentary Secretary for Zakat and Usher Raja Muhammad Awais Khalid was elected MPA from Jhelum PP-24.

Awais’s driver Qamar Zaman had parked the official car outside a bank’s branch, where a security guard of the ban and a CCTV camera was present.

However, when the Zaman went back to get the car in the morning, it was gone. Police have booked a car theft case on the complaint of Zaman and alerted all police stations and motorway police about the stolen vehicle.



Last month a teenage boy was found dead inside the house of a ruling party lawmaker in Lahore.

Akhtar, 15, had been working along with his 12-year-old sister Atiya at Punjab MPA Shah Jahan’s house in Akbari Gate area of the city, sources told The Express Tribune. His body was recovered from Jahan’s premises and his sister, Atiya, was found lying injured in the house. The 12-year-old was immediately shifted to a local hospital for treatment while the victim’s body was shifted to a morgue for post-mortem examination, sources added.

The family of the victim lodged a complaint at the Akbari Gate Police Station for registration of an FIR against the ruling party’s lawmaker, who could not be found at her residence.
