Murder convict gets 25-year jail imprisonment

SARGODHA: A court awarded 25 years imprisonment to a man who was involved in a murder case in Sargodha on Wednesday.

The judgment was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Zulfiqar Ali. The prosecution told the court that accused Muhammad Jameel and his accomplice Sami had gunned down Muhammad Niaz over an old enmity on November 5, 2014.

The police registered a case against the accused and produced them before the court. After hearing the statements and considering the evidence, the judge handed down 25 years jail term to Jameel. In addition, the court also imposed a fine of Rs0.1 million on the convict.



However, the court acquitted Sami giving him the benefit of doubt.

Earlier on July 16, 2017, Additional and District Sessions Judge Javed Iqbal Ranjha awarded the death sentence to an accused involved in a murder case of Shahpur City Police station. Convict Muhammad Aslam was a resident of village Jhaverian. He lived with his father, Muhammad Ramzan.

The accused along with his father murdered his relative Allah Ditta, who was the son of Lal Khan. They had a family dispute on April 18 last year. The court awarded the death penalty to Muhammad Aslam with a fine of Rs200,000 while acquitting Muhammad Ramzan.
