ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Commerce has concluded performance evaluation of Pakistan’s trade officers posted abroad in the light of key performance indicators and a report in this regard will be submitted to the prime minister by next week. The officers, who have not performed well in facilitating and promoting the country’s trade, would be called back, a senior official of the ministry told APP on Tuesday. The official said trade officers had been appointed by the ministry for trade facilitation, promotion and diplomacy in order to enhance the country’s exports. Replying to a question, he said currently 57 trade officers were serving across the world. They were working to promote trade and facilitate free trade agreements and preferential trade agreements with these countries.
