After Sgnl debuted last year, a watchstrap that lets you receives phone calls using just your fingers, now there’s a more innovative way to hear phone calls without earphones or a headset.
Orii, a new Kickstarter project by Origami Labs, is a ring that uses “Bone conduction” to transfer signals, enabling you to make phone calls using your finger.
This strap lets you receive calls using just your fingers
Orii uses the same Bone Conduction process previously used by the Sgnl. While people complained about poor reception on Sgnl as it subtly vibrates your wrist to send audio through your finger bones and into your ear, Origami Labs has been able to make the reception better by reducing the distance between the device and ear as Orii is worn as a ring as opposed to a wrist-strap.
Of course, putting a ring the size of a Bluetooth headset on your index finger may not be the most fashionable thing to wear but considering the use of the ring, it looks as good as you could expect.
Apart from phone calls, Orri also works with iOS and Android to customise settings.
The device has an estimated talk-time battery of just an hour, but 45 hours of standby, while being splash-proof.

The early backers can get it for $119, and the expected shipping date is February 2018.
