Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has taken a number of steps to facilitate its students to pursue their future studies through distance learning system at their doorsteps.

Fresh students would be able take new admissions in semester (autumn 2017), scheduled to start from the beginning next month. Efforts are being made for timely announcement of results of last semester, so that there should be no hindrance in carrying out future studies.

The number of continuing students has risen to nearly 460,000 in  recent years, which reflects the trust reposed in this mega university for completion of their education. Total retention rate of the students has been around ninety percent.

To promote better communication with the continuing students, the University has initiated SMS service to keep them informed about the admission process.

Vice Chancellor  Dr Shahid Siddiqui, while presiding over a academic meeting said they would continue lay special focus on improving its admission, examination and mailing system to facilitate continuing students.

Special attention was being given to upgrade students’ support system and attending  to their queries and complaints through a well-managed complaint centre.
