The star is being lauded for breaking stereotypes surrounding adoption and opting to adopt a child in need of parents instead of bearing biological babies.

The moment we got the picture (of Nisha); I was so excited, happy, emotional and [experienced] so many different feelings. We literally had three weeks to finalise everything. Usually, people get nine months to prepare" says Leone.

The couple had applied for adoption when they had visited an orphanage, shares Leone's husband. The baby was already called Nisha at the orphanage, the new parents just added their last names.
