In memory: Reference for Dr Nabi Baloch

KARACHI:

The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) will organise a condolence reference for Prof Dr Nabi Bux Baloch on April 11 at the seminar hall, Abdul Haq Campus, FUUAST.

FUUAST Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Qaisar and the rest of the university administration also expressed sorrow at the eminent scholar’s death. “He was a great intellectual, expert of linguistics and researcher of Sindhi literature,” they said in a joint condolence statement on Friday.

Meanwhile, the chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, ZA Nizami, said Baloch’s death has created a void which will be difficult to fill for a long time.

He was one of those Pakistanis who earned great fame by making lasting literary contributions in Sindhi, Arabic, Persian and Urdu languages.

Dr Baloch was a prominent and active member of the SSUET Board of Governors and his efforts for the promotion of quality education were commendable.
