Boxing: Gonzalez crowned new champion

KOBE: Jhonny Gonzalez of Mexico fired a right hook to send Japan’s Hozumi Hasegawa down to become the new WBC featherweight champion. The referee stopped the fight 58 seconds into the fourth round to declare a technical knockout victory for Gonzalez. Gonzalez, ranked top in the WBC, bettered his record to 48 wins, 42 of them by knockout, against seven defeats.
