LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has taken serious notice of protests by Indus Institute’s students in Dera Ghazi Khan and their degree affiliation issues.

PHEC has directed the Indus Institute, Government College University Faisalabad and National College of Business Administration and Economics Lahore to take immediate action and address the concerns of students

Separate letters have been written by PHEC to the three aforementioned institutions for immediate compliance and with an order to submit a report by July 20, 2017.

“The NCBA&E will verify results and records as per their list and continue the education of 224 out of 417 students whose registration numbers have been issued by the college. Studies of 193 students, who were not provided with registration cards earlier, will be completed through condensed courses by NCBA&E and GCU Faisalabad without any type of financial burden.”

The letter further states that the result/mark sheets of all the students will be verified by NCBA&E and GCU Faisalabad.

Indus Institute was affiliated with National College of Business Administration and Economics (NCBAE) which was later annulled.  The institute then got affiliated with Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), but this was also cancelled.

The students of Indus Institute started protesting against the management and the government consequently took note. Authorities formed a committee to probe the matter. It recommended safeguarding the future of students on an immediate basis.
