KARACHI: The Sindh government has appointed the Naushero Feroz SSP as the new deputy inspector-general of prisons in the Karachi region.

"Captain (retd) Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio, an officer of Police Service of Pakistan (BS-19), Superintendent of Police, Naushero Feroz, has been transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the deputy prisons IG in Karachi against an existing vacancy," read a notification issued on Wednesday by the Sindh chief secretary.

On Tuesday, the provincial government had issued a suspension order of Jails DIG Ashraf Nizamani following the recent jailbreak in which two under-trial prisoners, belonging to banned sectarian outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi managed to escape from Central Jail, Karachi last month. Nizamani was suspended following the Sindh chief minister's orders.

omer | 7 years ago | Reply i know nizamani he is a good cop and among very few Sind govt cops who are not corrupt. So his suspension makes all the sense as he was a misfit in the Provincial establishment. Just like Aijaz Hyder who despite being current CM' relative was told to drop the charge of Commissioner because he was not corrupt
