LAHORE: Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Captain (Retd) Mohammad Usman Khattak took notice of the capsized police boat incident that happened in Indus River and directed the Additional IG PHP to hold an inquiry and submit a report within 24 hours.

Rescue 1122 control wrested away from home dept 

Additional IG PHP Amjad Javed Saleemi has reached DG Khan for inquiry. Meanwhile, teams of Rescue 1122 and Pakistan Army were making efforts to search the three drowning police officials.

It was reported that a police team comprising six officials were deployed at Riverine Checkpost Dari Mero to patrol and review arrangements to use in emergency situation expected due to flooding. Unfortunately, the police boat lost its balance because of heavy water pressure near Ghazi Ghat Bridge, capsized and stuck under the bridge.

Upon being informed, the rescuers managed to rescue three police officials namely Mohammad Bilal, Ejaz Ahmad and Aneesur Rehman, while efforts were being made to trace the other three drowning officials.
