Low water levels: Legislators submit adjournment motion

'Underground water level had decreased by more than 300 feet because of increased demand of water'

LAHORE: Legislators of the opposition benches submitted several adjournment motions at the Punjab Assembly, seeking the government’s attention and a comprehensive mechanism to deal with different issues, including water use.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) Chaudhary Amir Sultan Cheema submitted an adjournment motion against the rapid decrease in the water table. He said that the irrigation department had denied canal water supply to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) plants for water filtration.
