Thirty-five-year-old Fung fell down a hole dug for the pillars of a small bridge. He suffered injuries because of the iron bars inside the hole.
He was immediately shifted to DHQ Hospital in critical condition and later on succumbed to his injuries.
Two Chinese nationals abducted from Quetta
Confirming the Chinese engineer’s death, DPO Abbottabad Ashfaq Anwar said it was ‘purely an accident’, however, police are conducting an inquiry as well.
Fung was shifted to Dobather camp after an autopsy. His body will be sent to China amid tight security later in the evening.
