ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) will introduce new areas and high-tech facilities for tourists to make their trips comfortable, PTDC Managing Director Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan stated. He said that the semi-government organisation will soon have a new, upgraded website to facilitate and attract tourists. The information technology (IT) department of PTDC will also assist in optimizing operational performance of the Islamabad City Tour Bus Service. Health, cultural, agricultural and aviation tourism will also be promoted and facilitated to boost overall tourist activity, according to Khan. “In other countries, tourism sector is handled by the federal government,” Khan said, adding that his organization is trying to remain a federal subject even after devolution of tourism-promotion to provincial governments. PTDC is also offering joint ventures through public-private partnership for several tourism related projects spread all over the country.
