PTI secures religious parties’ support in PS-114 by-election

Religious leaders say PTI candidate should become the voice of the people

KARACHI:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claims to have the support of religious parties and organisation for its candidate in the PS-114 by-election on July 9.

Leaders of the party such as Imran Ismail, Ali Haider Zaidi, candidate for PS-114 Najeeb Haroon, MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman and the party’s Karachi president Firdous Shamim Naqvi addressed a press conference on Wednesday at party headquarters Insaf House along with various leaders belonging to different religious parties and organisations.

Haroon said that no positive change is possible in society without the support and involvement of religious leaders and PTI would never ignore the contribution of religious leaders in society even since the creation of the country.


‘Religious parties to form electoral alliance’  

The press conference was attended by the general secretary of Pakistan Ulema Mashaikh, Sajjad Shabbir Rizvi, Molana Mazharul Haq Thanvi, Razi Haider Rizvi, International Kahtme Nabuwat Secretary Molana Hazrat Wali Hazarvi and others.

The clerics expressed their support for the party and Imran Khan’s cause against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, as he has raised voice against the corrupt mafia. They also said that they fully support PTI candidate Najeeb Haroon in the by-elections in PS-114.

The religious leaders said they expect the PTI candidate to represent and become the voice of the people of PS-114 and serve them with all the resources available to him.
