QUETTA: Security forces claimed to have arrested eight persons belonging to a banned outfit from the Kohlu area of Balochistan on Sunday.

According to the security sources, security forces launched operation Radd-ul-Fasaad in Kohlu and arrested eight persons on suspicion of being linked to a banned outfit.

Security forces also seized three SMGs, five rifles, eight magazines and thousands of rounds from their possession.

The arrested terrorists were involved in planting an IED in Mach railway track a day earlier.

Meanwhile, a security official was injured in a firing incident in the Kech district.

According to the Levies officials, the incident occurred when unidentified armed men ambushed the convoy of security forces in the Balnigwar area of Kech district.

The injured security man was taken to a hospital, while a search operation was being carried out by security forces to arrest the miscreants.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of this report.
