Unprecedented : CM swells with pride over largest ADP

CM says 2017-18 will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has laid out the largest annual development programme in the history of the province for Fiscal Year 2017-18.
Rs635billion to be set aside for development 

He said Rs.635 billion will be spent on development projects during the current fiscal year and this was a remarkable figure. The volume of this development program is 15% more than the development programme of 2016-17 and it will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity. He expressed these views while talking to elected representatives.

“Development of the social sector on a sustainable basis is an utmost priority,” the CM said.

“Record funds of Rs345 billion have been earmarked for the promotion of education as we are well that this sector is the key to development and prosperity,” he added.

He said the Punjab government had started unprecedented programs to arm children with education and incorporated students of other provinces to reinforce national solidarity.
Health ADP sees increase, but it's not enough: experts

Shehbaz said 500,000 girls from less-privileged districts are being educated under the Zewar-e-Taaleem Programme, he added. He said that through the programmes of the Punjab Education Foundation, more than 2.5 million students had been educated. Shehbaz stressed new educational institutions, colleges and universities are being set up all over the province.
