KPRRP proved to be a game-changer, says Shehbaz

So far more than Rs67 billion had been spent on the programme

LAHORE: The Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme (KPRRP) has proved a game-changer for the rural economy.

This was stated by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday. He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. The minister said aid that thousands of kilometres long carpeted roads had been constructed under the programme in rural areas of the province.  "This is the largest programme of construction and rehabilitation of rural roads in the history of the country," he added.

CM prioritises improvement in agriculture 

Shehbaz said that the programme had helped farmers take their agriculture produce to marketplaces easily.

He added that so far more than Rs67 billion had been spent on the programme and around 7,000 kilometres long carpeted roads had been constructed in the province.

In the financial year 2017-18, Rs17 billion would be spent on the construction of rural roads in different parts of the province, he added.
