Arrested by the Muslim Town, Garden Town and Gulberg police, around eight suspects were brought to Model Town courts to appear before a magisterial court. The counsels of the accused said the policemen arrested innocent citizens and ruined their Eid just to exaggerate their efficiency, while investigation officers contended the accused were caught red-handed.
However, the judge granted bail to the accused against bonds of Rs30,000 each.
Amir, who was arrested for doing a wheelie, told The Express Tribune that he did not understand the reason for his arrest.
He added that a group riding their motorcycles was doing wheelies and policemen tried to intercept them, but failed to do so.

They also intercepted him and took the motorcyclist into custody. “I was on my way to meet my relatives on the first day of Eid, but they arrested me and ruined the occasion. I was one of the people who were not doing a wheelie.”
Similarly, around 15 boys and girls were granted bail for “immoral activities” in Faisal Town police precincts.
They produced the accused before a magisterial court where the investigation officer of the case contended that the accused were caught red-handed. At the same time, their counsel argued that the accused were arrested merely to humiliate or blackmail them. The counsel claimed the accused were not involved in any immoral activity.
However, the judge, after hearing the arguments, granted them bail against bonds of Rs50,000 each.
