KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders visited on Saturday night the captain of national cricket team, Sarfraz Ahmed, at his residence in Karachi and congratulated him on winning the ICC Champions Trophy, 2017.

PTI Sindh President Dr Arif Alvi, MNA Asad Umar and PTI Karachi Secretary-General Sardar Aziz visited Sarfaraz at his residence in Buffer Zone and discussed the cricket team's victory in the final match against India.

Champions return to hero’s welcome

During the meeting, Umar said the people had great hope in Sarfraz due to his aggression on the field and positive attitude. Dr Alvi also felicitated Sarfraz and said the victory under his captaincy has made all Pakistanis happy as it is the cricket that makes and destroys the mood of the public. He added that things must have been very tough for Sarfraz as he was leading a young team. Despite the fact that many players were inexperienced, the confidence and body language of all the players was praiseworthy, he said. Dr Alvi hoped that Sarfraz would continue to lead the cricket team towards more victories for the country.

Sarfraz thanked everyone on the occasion and expressed that the love he has been receiving from all over the country is overwhelming. The captain said he is optimistic that the team will perform in a similar way at future tournaments.
