Oath-taking: Punjab cabinet swells to 34
Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bherath was inducted in the provincial cabinet once again

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has increased the size of the provincial cabinet once again by inducting Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bherath as a minister. After the induction of a new minister, the size of the Punjab Cabinet has swelled to 34.
Dr Bherath took the oath, which was administered by acting-Punjab Governor Rana Muhammad Iqbal, on Saturday. He is the son of former MPA Dr Malik Ijaz Ahmad Bherath. He is a medical practitioner who served as an MPA from 2002 to 2007 and 2008 to 2013.
He also functioned as a parliamentary secretary from 2006 and 2007. He returned to the Punjab Assembly for a third consecutive term after the 2013 General Elections and is functioning as the chairman of Public Account Committee-II.
