Telenor asks for your help to feed underprivileged families with its ##ShareYourMeal campaign

As part of the fever of goodwill that burgeons with-in the country during Ramazan, Telenor has yet again signalled its intent to look out for the people of the nation, to the best of their ability. Telenor started a major CSR campaign three years ago by the name of #TweetAMeal through which people were asked to tweet pictures of the meals they have in Ramazan and against the number of tweets that came in, Telenor Pakistan donated a sum of that amount to the people in hunger struck areas.

Last year, Telenor in collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal, distributed food supplies worth Rs2.5 million to 1,000 families in Thar.



This year, Telenor aims to outdo themselves, once again, by taking this campaign beyond the confines of Twitter. Seeing as how most social media activity is based around people uploading pictures, Telenor has promised to donate food to the needy for every picture uploaded to any of the major internet platforms, with the caption #ShareYourMeal.

By partnering with Pakistan Red Crescent, Telenor is looking to extent their network of localities and people that they would want to feed with this campaign, alongside reassuring people that their efforts on social media are now finally making a difference.



There is no rocket science behind the procedure; people are simply required to take pictures of their sehri or iftar meals, and post them to their Twitter or Instagram with the caption #ShareYourMeal, or they could even post the images to Telenor Pakistan’s timeline on Facebook with the same hashtag.

For every picture that is shared, Telenor Pakistan will add a specific amount to the donation pool that will be distributed by the end of Ramazan amongst the needy; thus, the more pictures that Telenor receives, the higher the amount allocated to the donation pool.



It is quite rare to see an opportunity to do a world of good, from behind the comfort of your screens. Telenor has given us the opportunity to do just that; to come together and contribute to the needy in our nation by making sure that every time you eat, you #ShareYourMeal.
