LAHORE: Deputy Medical Superintendent District Headquarters (DHQ) Kasur was suspended by the Punjab chief minister for absence from duty. The CM took this action during a surprise visit on Wednesday.

During his visit to Kasur, Shehbaz Sharif also took notice of complains by janitorial staff, who had alleged the hospital administration did not release their salaries.

The janitorial staff informed the chief minister that they were forced to sign Rs13,000 pay voucher whereas they were given only Rs9,000.

Petition against Shehbaz: Decision on treason case expected within days

Shehbaz ordered DPO Kasur to initiate an inquiry into the matter. The CM also took notice of janitorial staff not wearing uniforms.

The chief minister said if the MS of the hospital was in Lahore for official business, at least the DMS should have been on duty.

He inquired about the health of the patients during his visit to different wards. He said free medicines worth billions of rupees were being provided to the people of the province. He also ordered to check attendance registration of hospital staff regularly.
