Road between NESCOM, IJP rehabilitated
Mayor directs officials increase pace of work
ISLAMABAD:
With infrastructure termed key for ensuring smooth urban life, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has rehabilitated the M-II road from NESCOM to IJ Principal Road in Sector I-11 of the capital.
This was disclosed during a high-level meeting of senior officers of the authority to review the performance of Market and Roads Maintenance Division-V.
“Infrastructure development goes a long way in easing lives of citizens. For smooth urban life, consistent infrastructure development is very important,” said Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz during the meeting.
“Road infrastructure of the federal capital would be developed to meet the future traffic needs of the city. Concrete steps have been taken to ensure maintenance of the existing road infrastructure,” he added.
He directed that development and maintenance of projects should be completed well in time without compromising on the quality of the work.
The mayor further directed the concerned departments to accelerate the pace of work.
During the meeting, it was briefed that Roads Division – V had rehabilitated M.R – II from NESCOM to IJP Road, Sector I-11. Moreover, 95 per cent of work on the construction of external infrastructure in Sector H-10 had been completed.
The meeting was further told that 80 per cent of road development in Sector I-11/1, which had been vacated from shanty towns, had been completed and the project was on track to complete it within the stipulated time.
