Police nab teenager for murdering minor cousin

'The minor was attacked with a sharp knife and there were marks of torture on his neck and chest.'

MULTAN: New Multan police arrested a teenager for killing his six-year-old cousin in Multan District on Sunday.

An official of New Multan police told The Express Tribune that Sanaullah was stabbed-to-death by his 18-year-old cousin Hayatullah a week ago. Later, the victim’s body was found from a spot at Qasoori Chowk. He added, “The minor was attacked with a sharp knife and there were marks of torture on his neck and chest.”

He maintained that soon after the incident, the police carried out raids and arrested the suspect. “During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the crime,” the official pointed out.

During investigation, Hayatullah told the police that his uncle and Sanaullah’s father Jan Muhammad had slapped him over a domestic dispute. “I got enraged and I decided to take revenge from him,” he said.  The accused added, “I bought a knife from a shop and then I killed Sanaullah.”

Meanwhile, the police said the murder weapon had been seized while a case had been registered at the police station.

Earlier on June 17, a man strangled his two sisters to death in the precincts of Nishatabad police station, Faisalabad.

A police official said 25-year-old Shahid, a resident of Diyalgarh, was suspicious of his sisters’ characters. On the day of the incident, the accused took his sisters to an isolated place and strangled them. Later, he dumped the bodies in a field and informed his father Allah Ditta about the murder.
