Campus Violence: Three students held for firing at SU
Three students were arrested after students opened fire on campus at Sindh University.
HYDERABAD:
Three students were arrested after students opened fire on campus at Sindh University (SU), Jamshoro after the death of Sindh Peoples Students Federation (SPSF) activist, Rameez Suhag, at a hospital in Karachi on Tuesday. Rameez was injured during an exchange of fire between two student groups at SU’s international hostel while watching the Pakistan-India semi-final match on March 30. The SPSF announced a seven-day mourning period for activists across the province and students were forced to boycott classes. SPSF activists also organised a demonstration on the National Highway. The police arrested Ali Akbar Brohi, Imran Sangri and Azhar Hussain Sahto for being involved in firing. The university re-opened on Tuesday after being closed for five days after the firing on March 30.
