Major terrorist activity foiled in DG Khan: ISPR

During exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed

Pakistan's security forces on Friday foiled a 'major' terrorist activity in DG Khan as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, according to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

"A major terrorist activity foiled in DG Khan. Pakistan Rangers Punjab conducted IBOs in DG Khan last night," the statement READ.

The statement further said the terrorist action was being planned during a religious activity and "during exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed."

Army launches Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad against terrorists across the country

In April, terrorists were planning to launch a major terrorist attack during Easter celebrations in Lahore. Security forces foiled the attack. In the same month Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan foiled on a “major terrorist activity” planned for Turbat area of the province.

In response to the continuing terror wave, Pakistan Army launched ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country in February. “Operation aims at indiscriminately eliminating residual / latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders,” the ISPR said in a statement.

Weapons seized

Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions during an intelligence based operation (IBO) in North Wazirstan Agency on Friday.



The huge cache of weapons, which was recovered from Sar Kunr and Manzr Khel of Tehsil Datta Khel, include 12.7mm, HMGs, SMGs, missile launcher, pistols, a large number of RPG 7, rockets of 107mm, ammunition boxes of 12.7mm, HMGs, SMG, SBRL and IEDs along with detonators.
