Dr Malik gets coveted PED secretary slot

Dr Malik had been transferred to the department, while he is also the head of the DSD Teachers’ Training Programme.

LAHORE: The provincial government has appointed Dr Allah Baksh Malik as the Punjab School Education Department (SED) secretary. The appointment was made through a notification issued by the Punjab Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).

According to it, Dr Malik had been transferred to the department, while he is also the head of the Directorate of Staff Development (DSD) Teachers’ Training Programme.

“Directorate of Staff Development Teacher’s Training Programme Director Dr Allah Baksh Malik is hereby transferred with immediate effect.” It added he was posted as secretary to the government of the Punjab for the School Education Department to fill a vacant post.

The notification has also upgraded the scale for the position of the Punjab School Education secretary to accommodate Dr Malik. The Secretary to the Government of Punjab, Schools Education Department, shall remain upgraded from BS-20 to BS-21 for as long as it is held by Dr Malik.” The notification further said Dr Malik would also hold the additional position of the DSD Teacher’s Training Programme.

“He shall also hold the additional charge of the post of Programme Director., Teacher’s Training Programme,” it stated.
