Five new 11 kilovolt (kv) panels were inaugurated at Hyderabad Electric Supply Company’s (Hesco) main grid station on Tuesday.
“The Hala Naka Grid Station was under immense pressure and its capacity went down because the 11kv panels were 22 years old,” said Hesco CEO Muzaffar Ali Abbasi. The CEO hoped that the new panels would overcome problems. He said the installation was completed within 15 days.
The Preetabad and Liaquat Colony feeders of the Hala Naka grid will be transferred to the newly built Ghangra Mori Grid Station to reduce pressure on the Hala Naka grid, which supplies almost half of Hyderabad.
“Private consumers owe Hesco Rs9.5 billion in debt and the company has been carrying out an awareness drive on the importance of paying electricity bills,” said the CEO.
