A senior staffer of The Express Tribune has been receiving threats from unknown people for the past several days.

Chief reporter of The Express Tribune Lahore bureau, Rana Tanveer, has been facing the threats due to his work reporting on issues of minority communities.

Suspects arrested for assaulting Tribune staffer

Two days ago, Tanveer was hit by a speeding car and severely injured. He subsequently had to undergo surgery to recuperate.

Sometime earlier, a wall-chalking threatening him personally appeared near the entrance of his residence. We urge law enforcement agencies to do their utmost to identify and apprehend the culprits threatening Rana Tanveer, and to ensure his safety.
