KHANEWAL: Dozens of women staged a rally in Khanewal on Monday in support of their demand of ownership rights to the land they claimed their families had been tilling for generations.

The rally organised by the Khanewal chapter of Anjuman Mazareen started from Chak 83 and ended at the Khanewal Press Club. Anjuman Muzariyeen leaders Dr Christopher, Mian Fayaz Kamboh, and Mian Asghar demanded the administration to release the tenants arrested a few days ago during their planned long march towards Punjab Assembly. They said they would continue their agitation until the provincial government fulfilled its commitment of granting ownership rights of the lands they had been tilling for over a hundred years.
