Islamabad police arrest six suspected drug pushers

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested six drug pushers and recovered around three kilogrammes of narcotics from them, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

A squad of the Tarnol police station, headed by Inspector Sajjad Bukhari, apprehended five suspected drug pushers during special checking at Pind Parian and Dore Village.

While searching them, police said they had recovered a 2.755 kilogramme of heroin from them. The suspects were identified Shafique, Abid, Shaukat Khan, Aizaz and Shehzad. The men were interrogated for the source of the drugs and any accomplices. Based on these investigations the official said they were working to arrest others involved.

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Azhar Mehmud of the Secretariat police station arrested Siraj Khan for possessing 280 grammes of hashish.

Crackdown against anti-social elements

Rawalpindi police have arrested 12 lawbreakers including five for one-wheeling. Moreover, 1.9 kilogrammes of hashish, four 30-bore pistols with 14 rounds were also recovered from their possession.

According to a police spokesperson, Gungmandi police held Ali for carrying 120 grammes of hashish, while Westridge police arrested Tanveer for possessing 520 grammes of hashish.

Gujar Khan police rounded up Tanveer another suspect and recovered 1.27 kilogrammes of hashish.

Naseerabad, Airport, Morgah and Taxila police netted Asad, Kamran, Attique and Khalid respectively and recovered illegal weapons from them.
