Man kills three daughters, injures wife over domestic row

SAHIWAL: A man strangled his three daughters to death and injured his wife over financial constraints in Arifwala the other day.

A police official told The Express Tribune Ahmed Yar, 39, married Shakeela and the couple had six children. He added, “Ahmed had been jobless for quite some time and had frequent quarrels with his wife who finally went to her parents’ house a few days ago.”

He maintained Ahmed, however, brought Shakeela back and the couple again quarrelled following which the man strangled his daughters 11-year-old Zainab Bibi, Zunera, 6, and Marriam, 2, when they were sleeping. He also hacked his wife who somehow escaped. She was shifted to District Heaquarter Hospital Pakpattan for treatment. Later, the police arrested the accused.



While speaking to The Express Tribune, Shakila Bibi said Ahmad used to fight with her every day after taking drugs. “I demanded money so that I could bring something to cook food for dinner as my daughters had gone hungry for the last two days.” She added, “At this he got infuriated and left the house.”

Shakila’s brother Haq Nawaz Baloch said his sister had three sons who were not present at home on the day of the incident. He demanded that strict punishment should be given to the accused for killing his nieces and injuring his sister.

Meanwhile, Pakpattan District Police Officer Kamran Yousaf Malik said the Saddar police had arrested Ahmed Yar and registered a triple murder case against him.

Earlier, a man strangulated his daughter in Attock City. According to police, the prime suspect in the case, Arsalan, shot a video of a girl and uploaded it on social media.

After watching the video, the girl’s father got infuriated and strangulated her to death. The suspects later buried the body in a local graveyard. However, the police recovered the body and arrested the suspects.

Similarly, in another incident, a merciless man axed his young daughter to death in Raiwind area of Lahore.  According to the police, accused, Imam Din, murdered his daughter, Saira, with an axe, accusing her of illicit relationship. The police registered a case against him.
