What coffeehouses stand for

KARACHI: This is with reference to Rasul Bakhsh’s article in your paper titled “Loss of idealism” (May 18). I salute the professor for showing readers what a coffeehouse meant in Pakistan’s intellectual history. This he has done at a time when such places are usually seen as where someone goes to see and be seen and not engage in any intellectual pursuits or discussions.
