Shop worker faints due to fear of robbers

BAHAWALPUR:
A worker of a mobile phone shop fainted during a robbery attempt in Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday.

A police official told The Express Tribune that three armed criminals barged into a mobile phone shop and held the staff hostage at gunpoint. The outlaws robbed cellphones worth Rs3.5 million, Rs1,25,000 cash and laptop from the shop.

However, one of the workers at the shop Bilal Waqas fainted due to fear of the robbers and was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, an electrical store located in the jurisdiction of Civil Lines police station, Bahawalpur was robbed of Rs173,000. The police said two bandits barged into Zeeshan Electrical Store in broad daylight and decamped away with Rs173,000.

Shop Owner Shafqat told The Express Tribune, “This is the third robbery in the market and despite informing Rescue 15, the police failed to reach the spot on time.”

He added, “Robbery incidents are increasing on a daily basis but the police seems reluctant to arrest the criminals.”
