According to the lawsuit, Bazzi and his wife realised they were eating pork pepperoni after they were half way through eating the pizza.
Bazzi said it was pork pepperoni and not a sausage made from meat as he had previously worked at a pizza restaurant before.
After being sick for three days, they filed a police complaint.
To make sure other Muslims did not make the same mistake, Bazzi's lawyer Majed Moughni began legal proceedings against the pizza joint.

“It's really upsetting," he said. "My clients want the public to know. Especially during Ramazan, it would be a travesty if Muslims..."
However, the pizza chain's spokesperson said "the claim was without merit".
"Little Caesars cherishes our customers from all religions and cultures, and the communities we serve are important to us. While we can’t comment on pending litigation, we take this claim seriously."
