SNGPL directed to complete gas projects in K-P

Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra directs authorities to start work in areas still deprived of gas

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, on Monday, directed Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to expedite gas projects in the province and make the utility available in the areas still deprived of it.

The governor also directed the officials concerned to resolve the issue of low pressure during Ramazan. Jhagra directed expediting work especially in Dara Adam Khel, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), Peshawar and Mardan.

Budget 2017-18: K-P proposes 57 projects in power sector

Earlier, the governor was apprised of ongoing work in Kandi Kalukhel, Budhni, Rano Garhi, Mia Gujjar and Landi Daudzai areas of Peshawar district for provision of gas.

The meeting at the Governor's House was attended by managing director SNGPL Lahore Amjad Latif, General Manager Peshawar Arbab Saqib and Chief Engineer Peshawar.

Earlier on Monday, one person was killed and a dozen others injured as protestors stormed a grid station in Dargai area of Malakand division against unannounced power loadshedding in their area.
