With his challenging role in Kapoor & Sons and cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Fawad Khan's success in Bollywood has truly been one of a kind.

However, it seems like there's some turbulence in his otherwise smooth flight. Soon after the Humsafar star bagged these two blockbusters, rumour arose that Fawad will be starring in Dharma Production's next venture with none other than the Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif. It was reported that the film will go on floors in November 2016, directed by newcomer Aditya Dhar and titled Raat Baaki.

Well, according to the latest reports, Karan is keen on signing superstar Salman Khan in Fawad's place. Previously, it was also reported that Saif Ali Khan will be the new hero of the film.

Fawad Khan's wife opens up on being a 'star wife'

“While KJo’s next directorial will be with Ranbir Kapoor, he wants to produce a film with Salman and Katrina in the lead as he finds their chemistry sizzling. Earlier, the same film was to star Pakistani actor Fawad Khan along with Katrina, but with the ban on Pakistani actors during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, that is not happening," a source told DNA. "Hence, the film-maker was keen to rope in Salman. The script is being reworked for Dabangg Khan, to make the character more suitable to him. The pre-production work on the film has begun.”

Fawad Khan's drastic body transformation for Maula Jatt will shock you

Salman and Katrina will soon be seen together after five whole years, in this year’s Christmas release Tiger Zinda Hai - a sequel to their 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger.

Fawad, on the other hand, will re-united with Mahira Khan in Bilal Lashari's Maula Jatt which is currently under production.

Since last September, ties between India and Pakistan have been strained to say the least and the two countries are reluctant about harbouring talent from each other. In fact, the ban on Pakistani artists in India has still not been officially revoked, although Pakistan called off its self-imposed ban on Indian films months ago.
