LAHORE: Three people died while five others were injured in a road accident in Raiwind City on Sunday. Police said the victims were travelling in a rickshaw when a fast moving tractor hit them near a police picket. The victims were taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Raiwind where the doctors pronounced two of them dead. Later, another victim died during treatment. Two of the deceased were identified as Zaffar Iqbal and Nusrat Bibi while the identity of the third victim has yet to be ascertained. An FIR has been registered against the unidentified driver, said police, adding that the tractor had no number plate on it. Casualties and injuries due to road accidents have been a serious concern for the past few months because one life is lost daily in the city. In April, four members of a family, including three children died in an accident in Shadbagh. In January, two siblings died in a car crash in Nishter Colony. In March, a policeman was killed in a road accident in Kahna. The same day, another man identified as Sher Khan lost his life in an accident in Kot Lakhpat.
