The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has lambasted the Punjab government on social media for sharing pictures of American power plants with the latter's tweets about the recently inaugurated Sahiwal power plant.

The party's official account tweeted:

Cyber crime: 'PTI social media activist in FIA custody'

The PTI maintained that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was trying to deceive the nation by using these pictures.

On May 24, the Punjab government had tweeted:

No load-shedding after 2018, says Nawaz

The two pictures are in fact of American power plants taken in 2007 and 2009.

Maz | 7 years ago | Reply Does the pic matter at all? I just saw the one day before yesterday in Sahiwal. It is much more impressive actually. Similar looks especially the chimneys but layout is much more impressive. The wrong pic may be a mistake or deliberate omission by a bureaucrat inclined towards PTI. Have a heart PTI. This one is really a miracle...such a huge and beautiful structure on ground in such a short time and now producing.. Don't try to take away their credit by such things...these are mean tactics and doesn't pay at all.
