PESHAWAR: The Revival of Indigenous Culture Heritage (RICH) came to an end on Wednesday after a cultural event at the village level was held.

The event, arranged by the culture directorate, aimed to revive indigenous arts, crafts and cultural traditions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

It featured traditional games and music to create awareness among the public about preserving their rich culture and heritage apart from establishing cultural identity. The event was part of the second phase of the project and followed the first phase in 2016.

“K-P has long remained a victim of militancy and terrorism which has crippled the social fabric of the society,” said Arshad Husain, a veteran drama artist who was assigned to run the project across the province.

He added that initiating such projects in the prevailing hard times could help preserve the culture and traditions of the region.
