“Several meetings have been held with prominent broadcasting industry people and soon the plan for converting the PTV Global into children’s channel will be implemented,” she told reporters at the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (Szabist).

Aurangzeb said no work has been done for children’s entertainment in broadcasting industry at government level over the last 35 years and there was a need to work on children’s entertainment at the national level in order to provide them useful infotainment.

“All efforts will be made to educate our children and youth, utilising our national heritage,” she said.

The minister said on the PM’s directives the film industry was also being revived which was the need of the hour.  “Globally, countries are using their film industry for creating awareness among youth about important social issues and also for conveying powerful social messages,” she said.
