Suspended opening batsman Khalid Latif’s lawyer slammed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Anti-Corruption tribunal for their biased attitude.

PCB’s legal advisor Taffazzul Rizvi claimed earlier that Khalid’s lawyers are trying to find an escape route, and also said that the tribunal has the authority to proceed even if the other party refuses to appear in the trial.

Badar Alam in a video statement released on Monday, claimed that the tribunal members had affiliation with the board in the past, which is why he and his client do not believe they can get any justice from the hearing.

“We don’t believe we can get any justice from this tribunal,” said Badar. “Trial without our participation proves our reservations. How can you expect to have a fair trial when all the member of the tribunal served the cricket board in some capacity in the past?”

Badar further went on to demand the release of the trial video. “We demand them to release the video of the trial,” Badar added. “They [the PCB] claim that they cannot release the video because it is their private matter, which proves that they’ve already made up their mind to punish the player.”

Khalid is among the five players suspended for the spot-fixing scandal which rocked the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
