Three bodies retrieved, search for 16-year-old's body is under way

Four people drowned at separate locations on Sunday in Karachi.
Two teenagers drowned at Sandspit Beach where they had gone for a picnic with their friends. Rescue teams recovered the body of one teenage, who was identified as Rehan, 18, son of Saleem. The search for his friend, 16-year-old Hammad Fareed, is under way. The deceased teenagers were residents of Bahadurabad.
Four friends drown at Karachi's Hawke’s Bay beach
In another incident at a beach near the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant, a 20-year-old man, identified as Pintu, also drowned. His body was retrieved by rescue teams. According to the police, he was a resident of Nazimabad.
Meanwhile, a young man drowned in the Hub River, within the limits of the Manghopir police station. His body was shifted to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for want of identification.
Drowning incidents are common in the summer season, when picnickers flock to the beaches to beat soaring temperatures in the city without considering the high tide.

Despite several drowning incidents, the concerned authorities have yet to take concrete measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
