Likening his political rivals to the notorious East India Company, PTI Chairman Imran Khan claimed on Friday that political dynasties, the Sharif family in particular, were looting the country.

“Pakistan is ruled by ‘companies’. The Centre is ruled by Nawaz Sharif company limited; Sindh by Zardari company limited; Balochistan by Achakzai and brothers company and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa by Asfandyar Wali and Maulana Fazlur Rehman companies,” Imran said while addressing a huge public gathering in Quetta.

A large number of party workers, including men and women, attended the gathering.

These ‘companies’, Imran said, have stolen public money and sent it abroad. “A whopping Rs100,000 billion is being sent abroad through corruption and money laundering annually,” he added.

He questioned how the Sharifs had purchased “Rs800 billion worth property” in Dubai. “The money of this country was hidden in Panama’s companies and then expensive flats of Mayfair were bought with them. Had this money been spent on the country, the youth would have got jobs and children would have been educated,” he said.

The PTI chief also claimed that Premier Sharif had business interests in other countries and that there was a link between his meeting with Indian steel magnate Sajjan Jindal and grant of stay on execution of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

“I ask the prime minister, would India have waited for ICJ’s [International Court of Justice] decision, had it captured a Pakistani spy,” he said, adding that Jadhav has confessed to his involvement in subversive and terrorist activities in Balochistan and Karachi but India managed to get a stay from the ICJ.

He said Sharif should be held accountable for his business interests abroad. “The JIT [joint investigation team formed by the apex court to probe Sharifs alleged graft] should also investigate into the premier’s businesses in India,” he added.

Imran said the nation had come to know what Sharif had been doing after the Dawn Leaks saga, adding that the prime minister had lost confidence of the public.

“The negative propaganda against Pakistan Army and the controversial news that the civilian government warned the military against ‘supporting terrorists’ came out of the Prime Minister House in an attempt to defame Pakistan Army,” the PTI chief added.

He said Balochistan had been subjected to injustice and the people of Balochistan were looted the most. He said corruption was also at its peak in the province but its people had proved that they are fearless and brave.

“On the one hand, the federal government is devouring funds and on the other government officials in connivance with the bureaucrats– like Mushtaq Raisani – are engaged in money laundering of billions of rupees,” he added.

Imran said the world was progressing but he could see Quetta going backward.

“If PTI comes to power in Balochistan, it will fashion the police on the model of K-P police. We will complete the Kachi Canal construction which is set to irrigate 900,000 hectares of land besides shifting funds from MNAs to local bodies,” he promised.
