Rehmat Ajmal, a model, a fashion student and a theatre performer, and her sister Amnah Ajmal, a certified pastry chef and the owner of Bake Express, take a trip down memory lane. From having a crazy childhood to their hectic lives now, this duo gives us an insight to their relationship

What is your first memory of each other?

Rehmat: Partaking in endless wrestling sessions.

Amnah: I remember beating her up, a lot!

What is the craziest thing you have done together?

Rehmat: We used to host talk shows, invite invisible guests and speak to them for hours. We also used to dress up as our favourite characters from our favourite TV shows and re-enact episodes while our mother used to record them on a camcorder.

Amnah: Recently, we went for a holiday together. It was a very crazy and memorable trip.

What did you get punished for most as a child?

Rehmat: Sometimes while riding our bicycles in the streets, we used to lose track of time and come home late. That always ended with a good scolding.

Amanh: Teaming up against our eldest sister and teasing her all the time.

If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the others closet, what would it be?

Rehmat: Frankly, I am not very fond of her dress sense — she’ll kill me when she reads this. But, if I had to then maybe her entire collection of striped dress shirts!

Amnah: I’d take the one million black shirts that she owns!

If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do?

Rehmat: I would bake Rehmat a really nice cake with her favourite floral cream topping!

Amnah: Walk on the ramp.

What is the one thing you love about your sister?

Rehmat: There’s not just one. I love that she has such a good heart, the ability to love, to be there for other people, feel so much and give so much to the people whom she loves.

Amnah: I love how career-oriented she is. No matter how big of a star she is when she sits down to paint, the concentration on her face is priceless.

If you are fighting with each other, how do you make up?

Rehmat: It’s really easy; we can’t stay mad at each other for very long. We usually just forget about it the next morning and if we don’t, one of us breaks the ice by saying something or makes a plan to go somewhere and it all becomes okay.

Amnah: We usually forget after a while and go back to normal.

What is the one secret talent that your sister has, that you wish you had too?

Rehmat: The ability to cook.

Amnah: Her acting.

Describe your sister in three words:

Rehmat: Talented, keen and beautiful.

Amnah: Driven, impulsive and ambitious.

Which fictional character is your sister most like?

Rehmat: DeeDee from Dexter’s Laboratory.

Amnah: Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls.

How are your personalities similar?

Rehmat: They’re really not. We’re poles apart!

Amnah: We’re both very different people.

I can’t live without my sister because…

Rehmat: Because of everything! I can’t put it in words.

Amnah: I just can’t.
